A brick in time...

The homey feel of Brickhouse Antiques had its beginnings, quite naturally, as a home. Built some 50 years ago, the building was a family residence, and then later a veterinarian's clinic.

In 2002, Coralee Evans and Lisa Cusick, who were looking to find a location for their antique business, saw the potential in the now vacant building.

The location near I-470 attracted Coralee and Lisa, but they wondered if it was too small for what they had in mind. But, as many customers later commented about Brickhouse Antiques, "It's bigger than it looks."

"It had a lot of potential," remembers Coralee. "And in terms of our design philosophy, Lisa and I saw it as fitting what we wanted in a presentation... antiques laid out as they would be in a home."

With eleven rooms and "associated hallways," as Lisa and Coralee call their additional display space, Brickhouse has one level with an outside veranda and a front yard often displaying antique farm and garden items... perfect reminders of the history associated with Brickhouse.
